Some Great Cleveland Club History!

Can’t say I’ll miss Peabody’s all that much - as it was in it’s current form… but I do love getting schooled on how bad ass this town is… (and was!)

"For decades, music fans the world over have mythologized Cleveland clubs such as Pirate’s Cove or Piccadilly Inn or Viking Saloon. They are regarded as the cradles of punk rock for playing host to some punk’s earliest shows – before even CBGB, the Manhattan club that is the subject of a new film. Man, that’s when it all started.

Well, that is if you weren’t around at La Cave.

From 1962 to 1969, the club – 10615 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland -- played host to countless acts, including Simon and Garfunkel, the Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and Neil Young.

In 2010, La Cave had a reunion thrown to celebrate its memory. Its legend continues to live on with stellar bootlegs of the Velvet Underground that were recorded there from ’68.

Man, La Cave is where it all started.
