The Wooks (4/17/21)

This show by Virginia band, The Wooks, was essentially the first real concert of 2021 for me!   Shows at the Beachland Ballroom were being sold by the table, and at a pretty high cost to cover the low number of ticket sales able to be offered.  While there were a few Beachland shows that were held before this one, this was the first show that worked out in getting 3 friends to join me at 4 top table!  I was also thrilled to be seeing the Wooks, who have this fun folky jam vibe about them.   I walked out of this show feeling over joyed, and found yet another band that I’d love to see again.

The Ohio Weather Band (11/12/20)

I’m finally beginning to churn out the media to be able to post some of the concerts I’ve been seeing lately.  I’m finding it a little challenging to get these technological gears moving again.  This show by the Ohio Weather Band was one of the *few* concerts I was able to see in 2020, in a socially distanced environment.  It was *so* refreshing to see these guys live.  I was unfamiliar with them before this show, but they quickly made me a fan.

Video Day #tzaupbeat

Jessie Ware is serving some 90’s inspired realness in this video for Please, off her new expanded release.  Claire Laffut pulls off another stunning video for her new single Hiroshima.  BROCKHAMPTON’s trippy new video for Count On Me features Lil Nas X and Dominic Fike, and is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Bonus:  This “live” video for Glass Animals' Heat Waves (Live On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) is every bit as good as any official video release.  They will also  be performing live at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica on 10/1/21!

Video Day #tzachill

Rostam just released a charming new video for From the Back Of A Cab, with a cadre of folks you may know, including HAIM and Charli XCX.  Mandolin Orange announced that they’ve changed their name to Watchhouse, with this new single and video for Better Way.  José Gonález released his stunning new video for his new sing Visions, off his new album Local Valley (due 9/17).

Bonus: Excited to hear about the new Mdou Moctar album, and really enjoyed this peak into (one) of their worlds with this video for Tala Tannam.
