It was great getting to meet up with some out-of-town friends - for a *really* out-of-town band. Princess Chelsea hails from New Zealand, so it was a rare opportunity to catch them stateside.

Drayton Farley (12/1/23)
Drayton Farley has been one of my favorite country artists of late. A little surprised to 1.) see him performing at Mahalls, and 2.) that so many folks were at this show! He sounded great and hope to see him at the Beachland next time around.

Dar Williams (11/17/23)
The venerable and always lovely and humorous Dar Williams. Seeing her perform at GAR Hall was a true delight, especially getting to experience the new expansion room & bar at the venue.

SUSTO (11/3/23)
Got to check out The Asylum, one of the new venues in the Masonic Auditorium. SUSTO performed there, and there’s been (at least) one song off each album that I’ve loved. Overall, the space was still a little rough around the edges, including the lighting situation - but SUSTO sustained.

Jessie Ware (10/16/23)
Jessie ware released her dancefloor banger What’s Your Pleasure during the pandemic which killed any chance of seeing her tour that album, but luckily her recent That Feels Good! album is a delightful extention of that dace party. So thrilled I was able to catch her sold out performce at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC.

Nation of Language (10/14/23)
Nation of Language have been hitting my sweet spot these last couple albums with their 80’s synth sound. I wasn’t surprised to see they sold out the Grog Shop on this Saturday night.
Miss Grit opened.

Peter Yarrow (10/7/23)
I’ve been lucky enough to have met Peter Yarrow and have seen Peter Paul and Mary multiple times, and this is all thanks to my friend Tim Smith. I couldn’t have been more thrilled that Peter is still touring and I was able to take Tim to see and talk with his dear friend once again.
The venerable John Gorka opened, and what a delightful man he is.

Generationals (10/6/23)
I’d seen Generationals three tims already, and this was probably my least favorite. The band sounded fine, but these guys didn’t seem like they were enjoying themselves on stage.
