Big Thief (4/22/22)

"At Friday night’s sold-out Agora concert, red and yellow lights spun over Lenker, guitarist Buck Meek, bassist Max Oleartchik and drummer James Krivchenia, as Big Thief transformed the whimsical track into a fiery, gritty rock-out.

That twist, along with other subtle shifts and moments during Big Thief’s show, added a little bit more magic to the band’s music.

Of course, the music stands strongly on its own. In the past few years, the indie-folk group has quickly risen in acclaim, headlining larger and larger venues around the world and earning several Grammy nominations along the way."

Lido Pimiento (4/1/22)

I’ve seen both Lido Pimiento and Combo Chimbita separately, and it made so much sense to see them perform together.

Parquet Courts / Mdou Moctar (3/16/22)

I honestly forgot that Parquet Courts were actually the headliner - I was so excited about their return.  While I knew it would never beat their Now That’s Class show, it was nice to see Mdou Moctar on the big stage.  Parquet Courts were a great show as well - with the floor being the best place to experience this show.

DRAMA (3/11/22)

I couldn’t have been happier to finally see DRAMA make it to Cleveland after all these years - and to the Beachland none-the-less.  So. Much. FUN.

Inner Wave (1/16/22)

Inner Wave and Girl Ultra provided some refreshing sounds from the likes of Southern California & Mexico City on this cold January night at the Grog Shop.  

Girl Wave opening was light, energetic, and enjoyable.

Video Day #tzachill

The Lumineers presents some intriguing slices of life - and love! - in their new video for Brightside.  TZA House Concert alums, Oliver Hazard just released their new single and video for Use Me Up.  Maya de Vitry released this personal and touching video for her single Dogs Run On.

Bonus:  Danz CM (former Computer Magic) slowed things down for this gorgeous video, that I would LOVE to know where it was filmed...

Metz (12/13/21)

Not a lot happening concert-wise on a quick Sunday/Monday late December jaunt to Washington DC.  Luckily I was able to catch Metz at Union Stage.  Well, a little bit at least.  They were the second band to play (despite being headliner) so I was glad to catch what I did!

Shakey Graves (12/8/21)

This was my second night in a row at the Agora!  While Khruangbin was fine, I was really happy to go back for a completely different vibe with Shakey Graves again, and S.G. Goodman opening.  Shakey Graves really upped his stage show at the Agora, fully maximizing on the available light show!  Great as always.

S.G. Goodman was very charming in her progressive southern ways.  I’m all on board her train.
